LIVING IN THE PRESENT

Heureuse Année à tous!
Happy New Year everyone, Bena and I hope you are all having a fabulous start to your year!

Let’s talk about New Year's Resolutions. Now I don’t much like the word RESOLUTION, I would much rather replace it with the word GOAL. The word resolution makes it seem like one day you magically have the power and motivation to change your whole life, but in reality change takes time and hard work. Which is why I prefer to set small goals that are challenging for me but also achievable. So the question I am asking myself today, January 1st, 2024 is… "What is my New Year's Goal? What would I like to work on this year?"
My New Year’s Goal is to be more consistent with my blog posts. So as of right now, I am creating a plan to help myself achieve this goal. From now on, my plan is to post every Sunday on this page. It doesn't matter if it's short or long, funny or serious, personal or professional. All that matters is that I am making a commitment to myself to be consistent!
Now you might be thinking that, “Jordan, only one goal? Seems a bit lame for a New Year’s Resolution?” I know. I know. One goal is a bit small, but I have to start somewhere. With one goal I know that it is achievable, and the great thing about goals, is that you can always make another. I find it silly that we have come accustomed to creating these unrealistic New Year’s Resolutions, like giving up soda or starting a new hobby, that never stay consistent. Neither of these resolutions are SMART (specific, measurable, achievable, relevant or time-bound). Instead we could create smaller goals to help us achieve our overall resolutions!
Those are just my thoughts on the whole thing. Anyways good luck to everyone this year and never forget, live in the present because…
Yesterday is history
Tomorrow is a mystery
Today is a gift, that's why they call it the present.
